This article contains a selection of different product ideas from Amazon for keeping soft stuffed toys tidy.

Unlike board games which stack nicely onto a bookshelf or into a cupboard, or smaller items which fit inside a box - the cuddly toys are harder to keep tidy.

It's the shape and often the size of them that is a problem. For children, bigger is better, and a few large bears or whatever can start to create a problem.

We tried a variety of methods of keeping on top of the mess, all of which and some new ones I have listed below in sections.

When I originally put this page together I had a good selection of adverts showing a wide choice of storage products under the different categories. The idea being that you could get a useful selection and then click through for more information.

Unfortunately, that meant Google thought I was just an internet spammer, rather than trying to offer a reasonable choice.

So if the adverts seem a little bare, and there are rather too many amateur drawings - I apologise for that. It might give you some ideas though.

If nothing else, just the headlines in bold I have used might help you do your own searches. It's surprising just how many ways there are to look for a solution to the problem.

Hammocks

These popular and best selling soft toy hammock nets are a fun way to store plushes.

Easy to access, arrange and display - or just quickly tidy up a pile of soft plush toys.

Of all the items I have shown on these pages I can tell you these are the only ones anyone has ever bought!

I haven't used a toy hammock. Of all the ways we tried to tidy these things up for some reason we never thought of one. Didn't know they existed.

Hanging Storage

Another very simple and quick solution. Hang up, fill up with toys and job done.

Along with hammocks these would be my favorite for a instant fix.

Behind Door Storage

These are a good way to make extra room when space saving is essential and they are simple to hang up and get started tidying.

The thing I like about these storage options is that they are an instant and tidy fix to the problem. Easy, no assembly - anything that doesn't require some tools and bad language is fine by me.

Hang the thing over a door, fill it full of toys and there's a temporary fix to the problem. I say temporary because the pile never seems to stops growing.

Extra Closet Space

There are so many ways you can quickly and easily make extra space for storage.

...

These closet space makers will tidy and organise, and create more room elsewhere in your home.

Stackable Storage

It's not easy to find the right storage. There's lots out there, but nothing quite right.

So get creative. Just because something says it's a kitchen item, doesn't mean it needs to stay in the kitchen.

Some of these stackable items work just as well in the bedroom or playroom, and look reasonably attractive once they're filled with toys.

In this case I managed to find some that do look right... it's not always easy.

Shelving for Toy Display

Shelving solutions open up a large amount of space relatively easily, although you do have to put up the shelves of course.

Most rooms have free wall space, and what better way to keep an eye on your treasured plushes than organising them into shelf sized collections.

Maybe have a mix of small and big plush toys, or different types to break up the eye line. Or go for the more regimented and organised approach.

Whichever - with shelving you can mix, match and play with your plushes as much as you like.

Whitmor 6071-1723 Four Storage Cubes, White

Cube Storage

These are pretty ideal, especially given the sheer variety of shapes and sizes plush soft toys come in.

They will hold a number of soft toys, or for maximum effect just place a favourite or two in each cubby.

Some of these systems are expandable too. You may need it sooner than you think! It's amazing, frightening even, just how many toys, games and general stuff a child acquires as they grow.

The great thing about using cubes for storage is that they will stay useful as your child gets older and can start to fill these handy spaces with books, homework, sports gear and so on.

Great Toy Organizers!

These storage systems are ideal for dealing with the problem of a lot of toys looking for a home.

It's a real relief to get all that stuff off the floor or bed or wherever - and place them somewhere where the children can still get to them when they need to.

And after playing it's fairly quick to get the floor clear again...

In theory at least it might be possible to get the children to tidy up their own toys!

Toy Chests

A pretty straightforward answer to storing toys really!

Lots of space for odd shaped or large toys - and easy access when required.

Might even be simple enough for the little treasures to actually pick them off the floor and put them into the box when they've finished playing.

Under Bed

I don't really like to put my plushes out of sight. But when every other space has run out then the next best thing is under the bed.

...

At least I can get them out easily, and I know they are safe.

...

If you like to rotate your display items, then they are close at hand and easy to access.

Children like to hang on to their toys as long as possible, even when they have long since finished playing with them. Sometimes they are not so keen on seeing them sent up to the loft or attic space. So this form of storage is possibly a good compromise - they are out of sight but not so far away that the child worries they'll never see their toys again.

Vacuum Storage

I'm not sure what effect vacuuming soft toys will have.

They might be fine or end up permanently squished.

Maybe you can pack other stuff and have more room left over for the precious things - or maybe just vacuum the lot and there's an end to it.

A lot of things that end up stored like this never see the light of day again anyway.

It's amazing just how much stuff we keep and never use.

That's it...

That's all my ideas for stuffed animal storage.

I hope something was useful, maybe gave you a clue on some straightforward options.
